Eight days of relaxation and breath taking scenery are waiting for you to discover, explore and enjoy. In Dublin is a chance to unwind and relax and prepare for spectacular drives in days ahead. Heading south in a mountainous sweep from Dublin through Wicklow to the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny. Further south Waterford City and the open panorama of the majestic Copper coast drive. Heading west along the coast the sea gets wilder and scenery more rugged and beautiful. From Cork you head over the Cork and Kerry mountains to Killarney. Around the Ring of Kerry, the spectacular Wild Atlantic shows you the way as you head north along this fantastic coastal drive. You will drive through a bewitched mist shrouded landscape as you explore lonely ruins and rediscover stirring tales long past. Stroll into Bars and discover the friendly people making room for you. Drive the wild Atlantic way on road’s that will inspire and hook you.

 


Description of Tour

 

Day 1: Arrival Day Dublin 

Arrive in Dublin Airport where your vehicle will be waiting for you to collect. Continue into the city, after checking in to your accommodation, enjoy an open top bus tour of Ireland’s Capital City. In the afternoon, visit one of Ireland’s major attractions such as The Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Whiskey Distillery or Epic Emigration Museum.

Day 2: Waterford City via Kilkenny City

A fun packed day awaits with early morning stops at The National Stud & The Japanese Gardens. Tour continues onto Ireland’s ‘Medieval Capital’ Kilkenny where you will get to explore the famous 12th Century Kilkenny Castle. Travel along south to Waterford City where you can visit the famous House of Waterford Crystal. In the evening choose from one of the many pubs and restaurants Waterford has to offer.

Day 3: Killarney

Coastal Tour along the south coast of Ireland, about 120 miles, toward Killarney. With stops in Blarney for some local sightseeing in Blarney Woollen Mills/Castle. A visitor at Jameson Midleton Whiskey Experience.

After lunch terrific tour over the Cork/Kerry mountains and a grand entrance into Killarney Town. Two nights to be spent in this wonderful town.

Day 4: Ring of Kerry

Get ready for a fabulous day of scenic views on the Ring of Kerry. The 100 mile winding coastal drive consists of beautiful beaches and Cliffs and iconic landscapes. If you are a Star Wars fan why not visit the famous Skellig Michael where Star Wars VII was filmed. First stop majestic Torc Waterfall. Then a further pause for a stroll around Sneem, with its brightly painted houses. Over Moll’s Gap for panoramic views of Ireland’s highest mountains and deepest valleys.

Enjoy another evening in Killarney to sample the local pubs and eateries.

Day 5: Kerry to Cong via Clare and Galway

Leave Killarney early morning and drive north to Tarbert for a 20-minute ferry ride across the wide River Shannon Estuary. Continue along the coast of County Clare to the Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular wall of sandstone that reaches almost 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean. Drive past Lahinch, one of Ireland’s most famous locations, and through the marketing town of Ennis to Bunratty. Where you can find Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. Travel onwards north arriving at the village of Doolin. Doolin is world-famous for its wealth of Irish folk music and in recent years has been attracting crowds to spontaneous sessions in any one of its excellent pubs. Then it is on to Galway via the lunar like Burren Region and the ancient Poulnabrone Dolmen Tomb.

Drive through the Burren and around Galway Bay before reaching Cong for your next overnight stay.

Day 6: Connemara

Today, the beautiful Connemara Region awaits you. Situated west of Galway on the most western seaboard of Europe, you will get to experience breath taking scenery featuring rugged, unpolluted coastline, dramatic mountains, numerous lakes and rivers and woodlands and the renowned Connemara National Park. Visit Kylemore Abbey and the Lough Inagh Valley as well as the spectacular Sky Road near the town of Clifden. You can also visit the fishing village of Roundstone and see how a ‘Bodhran’ (traditional Irish Drum) is made. Today you have option of choosing either a “Connemara Lady” catamaran cruise or take “The Quiet Man” walking tour of Cong.

Day 7: The road back to Dublin

Today travel from the Atlantic Ocean on the West Coast to the Irish Sea on the East Coast

The route back towards Dublin will let you take in some of Ireland’s most historical landmarks, such as the ancient monastic settlement at Clonmacnoise. This is an early Christian site founded by Saint Ciaran in the 6th century on the banks of the River Shannon and includes the ruins of a cathedral, eight, two round towers, three high crosses and a large collection of early Christian grave slabs. Arrive back in Dublin City to be greeted at your accommodation by a private guide who will take you on a spectacular guided walking tour of Dublin City.

Day 8: Farewell

We say a sad farewell today. Enjoy a full Irish Breakfast & some last bits of shopping before heading to the Airport in good time for you to check in for your flight.
