Heading south in a mountainous sweep from Dublin through Wicklow to the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny. Road trip takes you South west across Ireland’s Golden Vale of rich pastures, rolling mountains. A chance to visit the ancient seat of the Kings of MunsterThe Rock of Cashel. On to Killarney through beautiful rolling green landscapes.

From Killarney the road trip is all about rings, ring of Kerry and the Skellig Ring. Finally you encountere the awesome spectacular Wild Atlantic. The road takes you north along this fantastic coastal drive. Driving through a bewitched mist shrouded landscape, soaring cliffs. Talking stops to explore lonely ruins and rediscover stirring tales long past. Stroll into Bars and discover the friendly people making room for you. Day 1: Dublin

  • Arrive in Dublin Airport where your vehicle will be waiting for you to collect
  • Head into Dublin city, checking in to your accommodation (Belvedere Hotel)
  • Enjoy an Open Top Bus Tour of Ireland’s Capital City
  • In the afternoon, visit one of Ireland’s major attractions  The Guinness Storehouse and afterwards a unique Walking Tour of Dublin back to your accommodation
  • Suggested dinner in The Church on Dublins Jervis Street
  • Evening in the wonderful historic Traditional Pub Murray’s of O’Connell Street

Day 2: Kilkenny

  • Day Starts with a beautiful Breakfast
  • Head to Kilkenny City, heading south to historic Glendalough for stunning monastic ruins on shores of beautiful lake
  • Head onto Kilkenny over the Sally Gap in the majestic Wicklow Mountains, one of Ireland’s stunning drives
  • Continue on to Ireland’s ‘Medieval CapitalKilkenny
  • Check-in at Central B&B right in the heart of beautiful city
  • Explore the famous 12th Century Kilkenny Castle
  • Suggested lunch in Kilkenny Design opposite the Castle
  • In the afternoon experience Kilkenny’s medieval mile route with a stop at the Smithwick’s Brewery
  • Discover St Canices the ancient beautiful Cathedral wherein lies much of this great cities historic nobility
  • Suggested you unwind for dinner and live Irish music in one of Kilkenny’s most famous Bars, Matt the Miller

Day 3: Killarney

  • First Breakfast, lots to see today!
  • Out towards Kerry and first stop of the day is the Rock of Cashel, a stunning citadel rising high above the surrounding plains, home to the ancient Kings of Munster
  • Continue on this route to beautiful Blarney Castle to kiss the Stone!
  • Head over the beautiful Cork and Kerry mountains on a stunning drive into Killarney, picturesquely set beside lakes with Ireland’s highest mountains, the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks
  • Check-in at the renowned Ardree House B&B right in the town
  • After Lunch a visit Ross Castle, set on an island in the stunning lake connected by a causeway, ancient seat of the O’Donaghue Mor
  • A short trip around the lake stopping at stunning Torc Mountain and through the famed Gap Of Dunloe
  • Arrive back in town and take a stroll through the streets of this magnificent town
  • Suggested dinner in Courtney’s bar, stay for the music or explore some of the other famous bars, The Laurels, Murphys and Buckley’s
  • Make sure to enjoy the great pubs and enjoy the traditional Irish music on offer

Day 4: Ring of Kerry

  • Early Start and a stunning Breakfast
  • Get ready for a fabulous day of scenic views on the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Ring, this is 100 miles of winding coastal drive consists of beautiful beaches and Cliffs and iconic landscapes
  • Head out of Killarney up to Ladies View for short stop and on over the Moll’s Gap
  • Decend into beautiful Kenmare Village with its superb crafts
  • Head west on the Ring through stunning Sneem, with its brightly painted houses
  • Head out to Ballinskelligs and join the Skellig Ring
  • The views are breathtaking, take a stop and stroll (or Swim) in St Finans Bay and head over stunning cliff top roads into Portmagee
  • If you are a Star Wars fan visit the famous Skellig Michael Visitor Centre nearby, suggested lunch in The Moorings in Portmagee
  • Leave the Skellig Ring and join the Ring of Kerry again head to Cahirsiveen
  • Onto to Kell’s Bay and through stunning Glenbeigh, turn for Killarney at Kilorglin and head south to Killarney

Day 5: Killarney – Doolin

  • Big Hearty Breakfast – Early Start
  • Leave Killarney drive north to Tarbert for a 20-minute ferry ride across the wide River Shannon Estuary
  • Continue along the stunning coast of County Clare to the Cliffs of Moher, a spectacular wall of sandstone that reaches almost 700 feet above the Atlantic Ocean.
  • On the way drive past Lahinch, one of Ireland’s most famous locations and travel onwards north arriving at the village of Doolin
  • Check-in at Maloney House B&B and a lunch nearby
  • Head down to Pier for a pre-booked stunning Sea Cruise to the Cliffs of Moher, stunning views and magnificent Wild Atlantic Experience
  • Doolin is world-famous for its wealth of Irish folk music and in recent years has been attracting crowds to spontaneous sessions in any one of its excellent pubs
  • Then out to do the Burren Loop Drive across the Burren Region, mysterious castles like Leamenagh and Dysert O’Dea rise from the landscape
  • Head to the ancient Poulnabrone Dolmen Tombs
  • An exciting suggested dinner and trad session in Gus O’Connors famouse pub
  • As night falls catch the Western Sunset off the Doolin Pier, absolutely beautiful

Day 6: Doolin – Galway

  • A short drive and a stunning day ahead but never forget the Breakfast!
  • Head out of Doolin for Galway
  • A short stop for pictures at beautiful Dunaguire Castle
  • Drive on to Kinvara Fishing village, then Bell Harbour and coffee stop in Ballyvaughan
  • Continue on to Blackhead on the spectacular coast road
  • Blackhead – you can stop for views/photos or opt to climb to the summit for awesome views of Wild Atlantic
  • Head south hugging the coast to Fanore and more spectacular views
  • Heading east to meet Galway Bay and a straight drive into Galway City
  • Check-in at Lios-Inis’s B&B (or similar) a short stroll from City Centre
  • Check In, freshen up and stroll down to this cultural and arty city streets
  • Lynch’s Castle, Dominic St and Shop Streets with its traditional buskers and street performers, onto the artsy area of the docks and the Spanish Arch area
  • Try some of the following lively Bars, An Pucan, Garavan’s and Taylors each offer an evening of great food
  • Galway City is for walking, thankfully for tired legs it is not a huge, it is compact, lively and full of Music

Day 7: Dublin

  • Late Breakfast and a brisk 3 hour drive to Dublin City
  • Stopping at Clonmacnoise, this ancient monastic ruined town on the River Shannon is a stunning stop
  • Head to Dublin and accommodation in City Centre and Car hire can be left off nearby
  • Check-In at Belvedere Hotel (or similar) in Dublin City Centre
  • Take a personalised Walking Tour of Dublin
  • Head to Trinity College and see one of the wonders of ancient World The Book of Kells
  • Suggest a last meal in Pichet Restaurant and a stroll through Temple Bar area to sample this vibrant part of Dublin City
  • Relax for a last drink in The Palace Bar a short stroll from your hotel

Day 7: Farewell
